Movie buffs, this one’s for you. It’s time to mark your calendars for 2024. This year is posed to be thrilling, filled with a mix of sequels, reboots, and fresh content that'll transform the way we experience film. After all, we don't just watch movies. We experience them. So here is a list of my top ten most anticipated movies for 2024.
1. Mean Girls - January 12
The Plastics are back! I'm so excited for this movie. I haven't seen or heard any music from Mean Girls, the stage musical, but I loved Mean Girls and love musicals, so I'm here for it. Get ready, world, because the Plastics are about to make fetch happen once again!
2. The Book of Clarence - January 12
3. Bob Marley: One Love - February 14
4. Dune: Part Two - March 1
Dust off your intergalactic goggles because I am beyond hyped for Dune Part 2! The first part already had a stellar cast lead by Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, but Part 2 has added even more greats! I couldn't get through a chapter of this book, but I really enjoyed the movie. Can't wait to see what happens next in this interstellar adventure. Until then, I'll just be here mentally preparing my mind for mind-blowing awesomeness!
5. The Fall Guy - May 3
Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling teaming up is the hilarious duo I didn't know I needed! I don't usually care for comedies, but this movie looks hilarious! I love Emily Blunt and I strongly believe Ryan Gosling should do more comedies.
6. Ballerina - June 7
Move over, John Wick, there's a new badass in town! I don't know about you, but I am ready to witness some epic ballet moves mixed with mind-blowing action in the upcoming spin-off, Ballerina! I'm excited to see what Ana de Armas will bring to the role and Keanu Reeves returning as John Wick is always a treat!
Bad Boys for Life was one my favorite movies of 2020. I rewatched it so many times. No real details about the upcoming movie, but I'm hoping it's just as hilarious as the last, and I'm excited to see where they take the story.
Calling all emotions! I'm ready to dive back into the wacky world of our lovable gang in Inside Out 2! Inside Out was a surprise for me - I didn't expect to enjoy it so much. I'm excited to see all the new emotions because we all know college is a crazy time!
9. Wicked Part 1 - November 27
Guess who's ready to defy gravity and sing their heart out in the movie theater? That's right, it's time to unleash our inner Elphaba and join the magical world of Oz as Wicked hits the big screen! Grab your broomsticks and hold on tight because this musical extravaganza is about to cast its hilarious and spellbinding charm on all of us. Prepare to laugh, cry, and sing along with the iconic tunes we all know and love. Let's get ready to paint the town green and defy all expectations, because I'm excited to see just how wickedly amazing this film is going to be!
10. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - December 20
If you have not had the opportunity to see the previous installments of Sonic the Hedgehog, go ahead and do yourself a favor and watch them! This was a another movie that I unexpectedly loved, and as long they keep the vibes the same, the third installment should be just as great!
